What the compound is
GHK is a tripeptide composed of glycine, histidine, and lysine. In the GHK-Cu form it is complexed with copper(II), and that copper coordination is the defining structural feature distinguishing it from the uncomplexed peptide.
The complex is characteristically blue in solution, a visual property that follows directly from copper coordination rather than from any functional attribute.
How it appears in the research literature
GHK-Cu is widely referenced in laboratory work on extracellular matrix and dermal remodeling model systems, and in copper-transport biochemistry. As with all entries in this library, these are model-system contexts and imply nothing about use in people.
Related material formats
ATMI Labs lists GHK-Cu both as a research compound for laboratory use and, separately, as an ingredient in finished topical skincare products. These are distinct product lines with distinct intended uses, and the research compound is not a cosmetic.
Handling and laboratory considerations
Lyophilized research peptides are generally handled as temperature-sensitive laboratory materials. Storage, reconstitution solvent, and container choice are determined by the receiving laboratory's own written protocol, not by the supplier.
Every ATMI Labs lot is released with batch documentation so that identity and purity figures used in a study can be traced back to the specific lot in hand.
- Confirm the lot identifier on the vial label against the published Certificate of Analysis.
- Record lot, strength, and receipt date in the laboratory inventory before use.
- Follow institutional handling, labeling, and disposal procedures for research chemicals.
Research use scope
GHK-Cu supplied by ATMI Labs is sold exclusively for laboratory research and analytical purposes. It is not a drug, supplement, cosmetic, or food, and it is not intended for human or veterinary use.
Nothing on this page describes therapeutic use, dosing, or clinical outcomes. Literature referenced in general terms describes laboratory and preclinical model systems only, and findings in such systems do not establish effects in humans.
